FAQ Dermatology
At our practice in Frankfurt, we can remove various types of scars, such as acne scars, surgical scars, and keloid scars. We can also help with self-harm scars. For this, we have various lasers available, including the YAG laser, the CO2 laser, and the Nordlys Ellipse Flex.
The treatment process for scar removal begins with a personal consultation to get to know you better and understand your expectations. During this consultation, we will explain all the steps of the treatment and what you need to be aware of before and after. If you decide to proceed with the treatment, you will be given a numbing cream one hour beforehand. This will make the treatment less painful for you. After these steps, your treatment will begin.
It is not possible to give a general price for scar treatment, as there are different types of scars and different treatment methods.
The healing and aftercare following a CO2 treatment lasts a maximum of seven to ten days. You should care for your skin as recommended by our colleagues to achieve optimal results. If your skin begins to peel, you should under no circumstances rub it or pick at the flakes. This can lead to scarring or hyperpigmentation. You should also always apply sunscreen after the treatment.
We offer anti-wrinkle treatments using the fractional CO2 laser and microneedling. This type of treatment removes the top layer of skin, stimulating collagen production. After the treatment, the skin begins to regenerate, resulting in firmer, smoother skin.
We offer fractional radiofrequency microneedling, which can improve skin texture and minimize pores. This type of treatment is also effective for deep acne scars, as it plumps up the skin.
We offer treatment for stretch marks and pregnancy marks using a fractional laser and microneedling. This makes the affected skin areas lighter and smoother; however, more than one treatment is needed to achieve optimal results. At our practice, we achieve excellent results with this type of treatment.
The cost of treating stretch marks or pregnancy marks cannot be determined as a fixed price, as it always depends on the size of the area to be treated. We will discuss the price and answer any further questions with you in a personal consultation beforehand. One of the main causes of pigment spots is sun exposure. UVA and UVB rays can trigger hyperpigmentation of the skin, also known as solar lentigo. Freckles, also known as freckles, are a type of hyperpigmentation. These are genetically determined brown spots that often appear on the face. Hormonal changes, such as those occurring during pregnancy, while taking birth control pills, or during menopause, can also lead to hyperpigmentation. Acne or other scarring can also cause hyperpigmentation. Age spots, which develop due to prolonged sun exposure, are another type of pigment spot.
In our practice, we can treat hyperpigmentation of your skin using laser therapy. To find the right treatment for your specific hyperpigmentation, we will examine your skin during a personal consultation. During this consultation, you will be informed about the entire treatment process, the costs, and the aftercare following the treatment.
Chloasma is a widespread, sharply defined, and irregularly occurring pigmentation disorder of the skin caused by sun exposure. We also offer chloasma/melasma removal at our practices in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden.
The treatment may cause slight swelling and redness. The pigment spot will initially darken in the first few days. However, these signs are not a cause for concern. No long-term side effects are known from laser therapy.
